Interested in many things, introverted by nature, eager to learn and to make new experiences. These are some of my current interests:
Since my teenage years, photography has been a consistent hobby. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. At the moment my favourite areas of photography are birds, experimental, product and astro photography. I love the diversity of the genre and how I am also learning more about birds and astronomy along the way.
Hiking, it's such a wonderful activity. Out in nature, you can see nature change with the seasons. You can chat with friends, you can let your mind drift away. It is my favourite form of meditation. Recently, I have also discovered trail hiking for me. In future, I'd love to try out trail hiking in the wilderness with a tent.
Ancestry research is my latest interest. Piecing things together like a puzzle and ever expanding your understanding of your own family's background can be fascinating. My main focus is research around my grandfather who wrote extensive diaries. Sometimes this leads to new contacts in the present. Trying to turn this into a novel.
Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.

In September 2019, I made it on my first Camino de Santiago in Portugal - from Porto to Santiago de Compostela . In 2023, I now walked the Camino Francés and the Camino Finisterre y Muxía. What a phenomenal experience! Walking is such a great source of contentment and you can carry all you ever really need in a backpack. Check out my Youtube playlist of daily short summary videos of this thru-hike if the spirit moves you.
I consider myself blessed to have served as a volunteer teacher at Shanti Bhavan, one of the most inspiring education projects that is trying to eradicate generational poverty in India.
Dream of a world only your heart can build, act with courage and love and don’t ask why. - Abraham George, founder of Shanti Bhavan
Previous Websites I have created in 2003 and 2005, pretty much left as they were back then.
Just as my friend Anita V. so wisely said: When I think of India, I think of tolerance in diversity, harmony in contrasts, flexibility in service, warmth in relationships, simplicity in modernity, intelligence in creation, colors in festivities, flavours in food, magic in music and faith in family, friends and community. Check out my freshlimesoda Website about my two-year stay in India.
Hong Kong was my home for six months during an internship in 2003 and since ranks among my favourite cities. Amazing skyline, beaches, mountains - Hong Kong has it all. After my internship , I created a website about Hong Kong and it’s still as it was then.
Being in Hong Kong was one thing, getting there another. Since I had just completed my studies, I thought it would be time to do something extraordinary - like travelling to Hong Kong by train. The result: The Transsiberian experience.
I am passionate about photography and travelling. So far I have travelled to nearly 60 countries and lived abroad for 4 years and I still hope to see a little more of the world. There hasn't been a single place that hasn't been worth it but nonetheless there are places where I felt a deeper connection, like India and Hong Kong. I have uploaded a few pics and will upload more over time - time permitting.
